Nov 21, 2009
McDonalds plans to open 1,000 new stores in 2010 as part of the franchise's efforts to communicate a more "urban" style. At present, there are already 32,000 McDonald's franchises around the world, making it the largest fast food operator, agency reports.
Australia is said to be one of the main beneficiaries of the rollout with China, Russia, Germany, France and the US also due to see new stores opening within the next twelve months.
As part of the US$2.4 billion rollout, 2,300 existing restaurants will be refurbished, half of which are in Europe.
