Nov 19, 2009
CP All Plc, Thailand operators of 7-Eleven, aims to have 5,200 7-Eleven stores in Thailand by the end of 2009. The company is now focusing more on selling franchise stores rather than opening its own stores, agency reports.
Piyawat Thitasatthaworakul, managing director, CP All Plc, discloses that the company is now putting its emphasis on driving revenue through selling franchises.
Currently there are 2,300 stores operated by franchisees. In the next five years, the company will increase the number of franchises to 60 per cent of total stores from the current level of 40 per cent. Any investment in a franchise store will cost the franchisee $44,776, compared to $104,478 for CP All Plc opening its own store.
CP All intends to have a number of branches in the top three nations which have the most 7-Eleven Stores (after Japan and the US).
